how does dueling work?

I would just like to clarify how dueling acctually works? and how the winner is decided, thanks

Two people, enter and make there appearence, then they take turns fighting. It's simple really, neither of you 'die' per say but you are hospitalized, and for who wins, it's just in the RP, who gets killed.

Well you can only battle the willing participant to "NEAR" death.
It has to be an intricate one on one duel between two characters.
Simple enough.

well you fight the other guy i.e.

Player 1 swings his sword at Player 2

but of course you'll add more detail like (average RPing level):

Sweat drenched Player 1's tunic and more was raining from his face. He lifted his double-edged sword high into the air and brought it down with all his might at Player 2's head.

you know? and if you want you can add even more detail (above-average RPing level):

The sun high up in the sky, illuminated the battlefield and blinded Player 1. Player 1 brought his leaden arm up to his eyes to block the sunlight piercing his retinas. He was at a disadvantage, the sun would blind him. Sweat drenched his tunic and fell from his face. He looked down at his sword, glimmering in the light, it was given to him by his father, now, he would make his father proud. He summoned the last reserves of his draining strength, and brought the heavy sword onto his opponent's head.

you could also add even more detail, if you're not lazy like me which would make it pro level RPing.

So a fight should look like this:

Player 1 swings his sword at Player 2's head.
Player 2 ducks and kicks Player 1's shins
Player 1 falls down and grabs Player 2 along with him
Player 2 punches Player 1

and to decide the winner, we look at the two outcomes:
1)Player 1 blocks the punch, draws his dagger and slits Player 2's throat
2)Player 1 says this fight is unnecessary and calls a truce
Player 2 agrees to the truce and calls it a tie
