General Rules Empty General Rules

Registration Rules
1. Follow the Template
2. Await approval (Admins/Mods will approve as soon as possible)
3. Your username must be the name of your main character.

Common Rules:

1. Description of scenes of death, gore, blood are allowed (though not suggested) on this forum.
2. Members who hold important positions (Super duper mod, ruler of a city etc.) and who are not online for 3 weeks or more, without letting the admin know will lose their status.
3. Actions performed by the mods can be argued with the admin.
4. There must be no rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or flaming attacks to anybody or this will result in punishments.
5. Multiple, repeated postings (except in one person quests) are inadvisable and can be deleted (double posting)
6. Member's avatar should represent their main character.

Game Rules:

1. The person's character must act as he/she described him/her/it when they submitted the profile. For example if you said your wizard is emo, you cannot make him run around happily sprinkling chocolate chips on dandelions.
2. You cannot 'just defeat' another character simply. Player consent is highly suggested. Be detailed - phrases like "He went and stabbed him in the head" will be ignored and deleted.
3. You cannot describe other people's characters' actions. (Unless consented to)
4. Don't create superheroes, it's going to be boring to play (Everyone can do it so why?).
5. You cannot do 100 actions at the same time in one post.
6. Play logically.
7. Be patient. Not everyone can sit on the computer all day - wait for other people to reply.
8. If you're going to be absent more then 14 days, you should report to administration, and possibly act out your character's disappearance.

Post Rules:

1. Your messages should be at least 5 full sentences long.
2. You can only write in third and first person's side of view, without using the asterisks (meaning no *eats an apple*).
3. Your message should contain actions, thoughts and speech of your character.
Your character's thoughts are to be written in italics. The affinity of one's character decides the colour.
4. Write something that is consistent with the story and enjoyable to read.

General Rules Empty Inventory system.

Post  Caleb Ilano Tue Aug 10, 2010 6:58 pm

Alright, I've had a few questions about this one, so I'm going to make a few notes.

1: Starting inventory, it will be a subject in your character registration now.

2: Gold, you get it from quests or events, or income from a rank. That's it. No idea how to implement it other then shiny trinkets.

3: Everyone should go to their journal posts (or profiles, under 'inventory') and edit in a starting inventory, or your character has not much. (except essentials like clothes, and food rations) Please be reasonable, it's another way to get denied.

Don't feel restricted a lot by what you denote. In quests you won't just have the same bag of stuff over and over.

General Rules Empty Make it readable.

HUGE note here.

This forum, it's about writing, this forum is not to kill monsters and look B'dass, it's about, a story.

In stories, protagonists do not always win, in fact, they usually lose a lot of the time. They win at least once that matters. If you lose three fights out of four, won't that make the one win all the sweeter?

That means that it is highly suggested that you do not simply win. Instead that you're character should work for that win, overcoming weaknesses that undo them, show character. It allows readers an emotional investment.

General Rules Empty Multiple quests.

Post  Caleb Ilano Sat Aug 21, 2010 10:29 pm

Many people are confused about this one.

Practice quests: You can have up to 9000 practice quests at a time.

Quest quests: Each character can partake in THREE town/quest quests.

Global event: ONE per character.
